Important Warsaw City Council Committee Meeting Cancelled: “Civic Platform Councilors Are Heading to Końskie”

A meeting of the Warsaw City Council’s committee was scheduled for Friday, where councilors were supposed to discuss, among other topics, the Różycki Bazaar (which caught fire again), connecting tenement buildings to the central heating system, and housing issues. However, the meeting won’t take place because… Civic Platform councilors are going to Końskie — wrote Warsaw councilor Jan Mencwel on social media.

Last week, a fire broke out at the Różycki Bazaar in Warsaw’s Praga district — the second such fire in recent times. The matter was supposed to be addressed today by the Warsaw City Council, specifically the Committee on Economic Development, Housing, and Digital Affairs. The meeting, scheduled for Friday, April 11 at 3:00 PM, has been cancelled.

The issue was commented on yesterday on social media by Warsaw councilor Jan Mencwel.

“Tomorrow, the City Council was supposed to hold a committee meeting to discuss, among other things, the Różycki Bazaar (it caught fire again), connecting tenements to the central system, and housing. But it’s not going to happen because… Civic Platform councilors are going to Końskie. Shameful,” he wrote.

At 8:00 PM on Friday, a debate officially organized by Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign team is set to take place in Końskie. After Telewizja Republika was not allowed to participate in the Końskie debate, the station’s management decided to hold its own event — also in the form of a debate, also with two candidates, also in Końskie — on Friday at 6:50 PM.
