Jaki on Tusk’s KPO Claims: “A Lie That Only the Narrow-Minded Would Believe”

“The claim that PiS blocked the KPO is a lie that can only be sold to people with very limited horizons, said MEP Patryk Jaki, responding to today’s “revelations” from Donald Tusk. Jaki laid all the cards on the table and explained how things really were with the National Recovery Plan.

At yesterday’s press conference, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that “the problem with the KPO was that the United Right government blocked the KPO funds and Poland might not have managed to spend them on time.” He explained that“therefore, various methods were sought to ensure that as much money as possible would reach Polish companies as quickly as possible, otherwise these funds would simply be lost.” The Prime Minister justified the KPO-related scandals by adding that, in this context, the head of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy (MFiPR) decided to “loosen the procedures.”

Patryk Jaki addressed Tusk’s accusations on X: “The claim that PiS blocked the KPO is a lie that can only be sold to people with very limited horizons,” he assessed.

He then recalled that it was the Civic Platform that requested the freezing of funds and made an arrangement with the German President of the European Commission. “Block Poland’s money, and when we return to power thanks to that, we will halt investments that pose a threat to you, such as the Central Communication Port (CPK) or navigation on the Oder River,” Jaki summarized the premises of the alleged Tusk-von der Leyen agreement.

He then listed the sequence of events regarding the KPO funds:

  • The funds were unblocked by the German official, despite not a single law in the Polish judiciary being changed.
  • In exchange, the CPK “cannot be built.”
  • The Oder River project was blocked under the pretext of “environmental” concerns.
  • Likewise, the quantum computer project was suspended.
  • Reparations claims were abandoned, Polish harbours are losing market share, and Tusk additionally allowed Germany to send back to Poland the most problematic migrants.
  • And as if that were not enough, it turned out that German state institutions are deciding on the allocation of KPO funds in Poland. If someone cannot understand this, I am no longer able to help, added Patryk Jaki.
