Journalist from Wirtualna Polska Accuses Bronisław Wildstein of Spreading Russian Propaganda; Michał Rachoń Issues Sharp Rebuttal

He was repeating theses known from Russian propaganda,” accused Bronisław Wildstein Patryk Michalski from Wirtualna Polska. The false post was countered by Michał Rachoń. “I don’t usually comment on the intellectual outbursts of that weakling Patryk Michalski, but this time I’ll make an exception, because Bronisław Wildstein is a Polish national hero,” writes the program director of TV Republika.

On Saturday, Law and Justice is holding another event as part of the “Thinking Poland. Alternative 2.0” series. The discussion is to focus on disinformation and effective ways of combating it. Bronisław Wildstein was invited to deliver the opening lecture. The publicist will speak about “a world turned upside down and the struggle for meaning.”

His participation in the event did not sit well with Patryk Michalski. The Wirtualna Polska journalist attacked Wildstein, accusing him of spreading disinformation.

He repeated theses known from Russian propaganda. Wildstein wrote: ‘The weakness of the West, undermined by the ideology of emancipation, caused Russia to decide to attack Ukraine.’ So a lecture on the fight against disinformation is supposed to be opened by someone who spread disinformation. Unless it’s a lecture on disinformation in practice,”

he charged.

A forceful response followed. Michał Rachoń, program director of TV Republika, came to Wildstein’s defense.

I don’t usually comment on the intellectual outbursts of that weakling Patryk Michalski, but this time I’ll make an exception, because Bronisław Wildstein is a Polish national hero,” his post begins.

He reminds Michalski that Wildstein was “one of those who throughout their entire lives possessed a courage that Weakling couldn’t even dream of.”

The courage of openly fighting Russia, the Soviet evil empire, and its mutations, when it truly cost a great deal. As in the case of Wildstein’s friend Pyjas, it cost a life. Wildstein openly fought the same regime to which Weakling’s idols sent obsequious letters and about which they said that ‘together with Prime Minister Putin, they would make sure no one throws sand in the gears’,”

he continues.

Wildstein is a national treasure that must be protected, which is why when a Medusa like that latches onto him, she should be told plainly: ‘your ceiling is his sleeping mat’,” Rachoń concluded.

Bronisław Wildstein (born June 11, 1952, in Olsztyn) is a Polish publicist, journalist, and writer, and served as chairman of Telewizja Polska from 2006 to 2007. Knight of the Order of the White Eagle.
