“President Jarosław Kaczyński has decided to refer the cases of the following MPs to the party’s ethics committee – Mateusz Morawiecki, Ireneusz Zyska and Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka,” said the spokesperson for Law and Justice (PiS), Rafał Bochenek.
“In connection with yesterday’s violation of the ban issued by the PiS leadership on initiating discussions on social media that are harmful to Poland and to our entire political camp, President Jarosław Kaczyński has decided to refer the cases of the following MPs to the party’s ethics committee: Mateusz Morawiecki, Ireneusz Zyska and Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka,” Bochenek wrote on social media.
However, this may not be the end of the consequences.
“Statements and posts by other party members, including the case of Patryk Jaki, are still being analyzed due to the complex context. The case of Jacek Kurski had already previously been referred to the ethics committee in connection with his remarks in one of the television programs,” the Law and Justice (PiS) spokesperson added.
On February 13, 2026, the President of Law and Justice (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński, following a media conflict between Ryszard Terlecki and Sebastian Kaleta and the widening of the dispute to other party members, announced that “anyone who takes part in this harmful discussion, regardless of merit or party position, will be suspended from their rights as a PiS member, which will obviously also affect their political future.”
On Thursday, an exchange of posts took place on X between Patryk Jaki and Mateusz Morawiecki. The former prime minister accused the MEP of criticizing the governments of the United Right, of which Jaki was also a member as Deputy Minister of Justice. Both Zyska and Stachowiak-Różecka also expressed criticism of the actions of MEP Patryk Jaki.
