Karol Nawrocki Meets with Adrian Zandberg: “I Encouraged Him to Consider a Possible Veto…”

Adrian Zandberg, co-chair of the Razem party, met today with President-elect Karol Nawrocki. “We talked about issues that require urgent resolution and simply cannot wait,” he said following the meeting.

As previously announced, the meeting took place today at 10:00 AM between Adrian Zandberg and President-elect Karol Nawrocki.

Razem had stated beforehand that the meeting would focus on “key issues raised by the pro-social parliamentary opposition.” Afterward, Zandberg shared more details about the discussion. He noted that the meeting was held at the invitation of the president-elect and described the conversation as substantive, touching on various aspects of public life where action can no longer be postponed.

First Topic – Support for People with Disabilities

Despite significant ideological differences, Zandberg emphasized the need for cooperation—especially on urgent matters. One such area is social support services for people with disabilities. As a reminder, a draft bill on this issue has been stalled in Parliament for months.

“We talked about issues that need to be urgently resolved and have been left waiting far too long,” said Zandberg in a media briefing.

He added: “There are matters that need attention here and now, and one of them is the issue of support services—and more broadly, the challenges faced by people with disabilities.”

“Right now in Poland, we’ve grown accustomed to the idea that care and support for people with disabilities is something the state pushes onto families. The Polish state has failed to live up to its constitutional obligations. We discussed this and agreed that things must change. Unfortunately, Parliament has yet to take action,” he said, adding that this issue should be treated as a priority.

Second Topic – Housing Policy

Zandberg also revealed that the second topic discussed was housing policy.

“As you know, there’s a strong lobbying push to bring REITs—real estate investment trusts—into Poland. These funds would inflate housing prices even further, making homes even more inaccessible for young people. I tried to encourage the president-elect to consider vetoing such a proposal, should someone try to push REITs through Parliament,” the Razem politician explained.
