“One of the senior PSL politicians told me that, in principle, it’s already been agreed that Kosiniak-Kamysz will run on a joint electoral list with Donald Tusk,” Miłosz Kłeczek revealed on TV Republika. According to the journalist, the Polish People’s Party (PSL) may have no other option left, and a joint electoral ticket with the Civic Coalition (KO) could determine the party’s future.
Although the next parliamentary elections have not yet been officially scheduled, they are expected to take place in the autumn of 2027. While the election campaign has not yet begun, opinion polls measuring public support for individual political parties are appearing with increasing frequency. The top three are typically occupied by the Civic Coalition (KO), Law and Justice (PiS), and the Confederation (Konfederacja). Lower down in the rankings—and often even below the electoral threshold—are Donald Tusk’s current coalition partners, including the Polish People’s Party (PSL), led by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
For example, according to the latest poll conducted by the Pollster Research Institute for Super Express, the People’s Party could count on 3.55 percent support, which would leave it without any seats in the Sejm.
Kłeczek: Kosiniak-Kamysz to Run on a Joint List with Tusk
Miłosz Kłeczek, a journalist with TV Republika, shared information during his weekly Sunday program regarding what next year’s electoral lists might look like. He said his information came from a conversation with “one of the senior PSL politicians.” Contrary to repeated assurances from PSL politicians that the party intends to run independently, Kłeczek outlined a very different scenario.
“I have some behind-the-scenes information, so I’ll share it. It’s not as though I don’t talk to politicians—for example, those from PSL. I do talk to them, I have my own contacts there. I get information. Just because they don’t come on the program doesn’t mean they don’t share information with me,” Kłeczek began.
He continued:
“Without naming names, one of the senior PSL politicians told me that, in principle, it’s already been agreed that Kosiniak-Kamysz will run on a joint electoral list with Donald Tusk.”
“Today they’re polling at around two percent, they have no alternative left, no ‘Third Way’ anymore. And apparently there is already an agreement that, if things continue this way, they’ll run together,” the TV Republika journalist added.
However, in his view:
“If they run together, Kosiniak-Kamysz will be the first person to effectively carry the PSL banner out of the Sejm. He’ll make it into parliament, but Tusk will politically consume him during the next term, and PSL will cease to exist.”
Beata Kempa Addresses PSL Representative
Beata Kempa, one of the guests on the program, addressed Jolanta Milas of PSL directly:
“If it were clear that you intended to run independently, you would not already have agreed to what’s happening with the healthcare system and this scandal involving that young man [Dawid Kacprzyk]. In reality, you support Donald Tusk’s actions in this matter, as well as Mr. Sawicki’s statements. We also see Mr. Kosiniak-Kamysz remaining silent. And indeed, it’s true that you may enter parliament in only very small numbers, because we all know Donald Tusk…”
