The security of Poland is not subject to negotiation, declared the chairman of Law and Justice (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński, on social media. The politician announced that members of his party would support individuals opposing the transportation of illegal migrants into Poland.
Every day, German authorities bring illegal migrants across Poland’s western border. At a time when the Polish government is not taking action to protect the safety of Polish citizens from the influx of migrants, the Border Defense Movement is stepping in. This growing movement of patriots is frequently reporting new instances requiring intervention.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed the activists’ actions on Monday, referring to them as “radical right-wing groups” and pledging to “put an end to it.” However, he did not present any plan to resolve the issue of illegal migrants being brought into Poland.
Law and Justice, on the other hand, intends to take action. This was announced by party chairman Jarosław Kaczyński. He stated that the situation shows that “the state has abdicated, and chaos and impunity are growing by the day.”
“Officers do not have the tools to act. They have been left on their own. The cardboard state has failed once again. It is ordinary people — citizens — who are beginning to organize to defend the border. And we will not leave them alone,” he wrote.
“Members of Parliament and activists from Law and Justice will travel to the border. We will support those who are fighting for the safety of our families,” he announced.
He also pointed to specific measures he demands from the government. These include introducing a ban on entry into Polish territory for individuals from the Middle East and North Africa, as well as reinstating random checks at the border with Germany.
“Poland’s security is not subject to negotiation. Enough passivity. It’s time to act!” he emphasized.
