On Thursday, a jewelry store in one of Szczecin’s shopping malls was robbed. The incident has been confirmed by the police. According to Dariusz Matecki, a Law and Justice (PiS) MP, a series of similar incidents occurred in the city, allegedly involving foreign nationals.
On Thursday evening, Dariusz Matecki, a PiS MP from Szczecin and an outspoken advocate for border protection, submitted an inquiry to the Provincial Police Headquarters (KWP) in Szczecin. He asked whether two robberies committed by foreigners had taken place in jewelry stores across the city that day.
One of the incidents was said to have occurred in a shopping center in the Turzyn district, and the other in an outlet mall on the city’s Right Bank (Prawobrzeże).
The Szczecin police responded to the MP’s inquiry this morning.
“On July 10th, in the afternoon hours, a theft of jewelry was committed by three unidentified men at a jewelry store located in the Prawobrzeże area. An investigation is underway, and due to its early stage and the need to ensure its proper conduct, the security footage obtained from the scene will remain confidential and accessible only to the investigative team. We would also like to clarify that the report of a similar incident occurring at any jewelry store in the Turzyn Shopping Center is false,” the police stated.
Matecki added that his source from the store in Prawobrzeże “claims that a group of migrants carried out the theft at the jewelry salon.”
“There are recordings. The police refuse to release them,” the MP said.
