MEP Ozdoba: Tusk unwelcome at the White House, “damaging” Polish-US relations

“President Karol Nawrocki has good relations with Donald Trump, and the result is additional thousands of troops,” Law and Justice (PiS) MEP Jacek Ozdoba said on TV Republika. In this way, he commented on the U.S. president’s decision to send additional troops to Poland.

On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the social media platform Truth Social that he had decided to deploy an “additional” 5,000 troops to Poland. He stated that the decision was made “based on” his relationship with President Karol Nawrocki, whom, as he recalled, he had supported ahead of the 2025 election.

The U.S. president’s decision was commented on by Jacek Ozdoba of Law and Justice (PiS).

“Every additional soldier within the NATO structure from the United States is a guarantee of security. Let us look at this realistically: if there is any threat today, then, geopolitically and historically, it has been the Russian Federation (…) If we want to defend ourselves, we must rely on ourselves, and in addition to that, the guarantee comes from the United States. It is the only country in the world that can truly help Poland,” the PiS MEP said in an interview with TV Republika.

“President Karol Nawrocki has good relations with Donald Trump, and the result is additional thousands of troops, while Donald Tusk is ‘persona non grata’ at the White House. He is harmful to Polish-American relations,”

Ozdoba added.
