“We are honoured that TV Republika has recognized our work during CPAC, and we are grateful for the dedication shown to the cause of freedom in Poland and across Europe,” wrote Mercedes Schlapp on X. Mercedes, along with her husband Matthew Schlapp, leads the world’s largest conservative conference — the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Mercedes and Matthew Schlapp were recipients of the Republican Award, presented for the first time during the Gazeta Polska Gala.
“There are many people who feel oppressed by the globalist elites. CPAC has created something we have not seen before — an attempt at an international alliance of forces that safeguard the interests of their own nations. This is an effort to combat the ‘internationale,’ which in Poland takes on familiar forms, such as the notorious rule-of-law mechanisms,”
stated Michał Rachoń while presenting the award to Matthew Schlapp, the head of the American Conservative Union, the organizing body behind CPAC.
Mercedes Schlapp, who also received the award, was unable to attend the gala.
“My husband and I are committed to fighting globalism and communism across the world. We are honored by TV Republika’s recognition of our work at CPAC and thank you for your dedication to freedom in Poland and throughout Europe,”
she wrote on the platform X.
