Polish tennis player Magdalena Fręch fought for two hours to secure her spot in the third round of the WTA tournament in Miami, eventually beating Erika Andreeva 4:6, 6:1, 6:1.

Magdalena Fręch was unable to qualify for the tournament in Miami after losing to Japan’s Nao Hibino, however, she was still able to secure a spot on the main ladder due to her rival’s illness. China’s Shuai Zhang had to pull out of the competition, allowing Fręch to take her place as a ‘lucky loser’.

Fręch began her journey in the main tournament of the tournament with a victory over Erika Andreeva of Russia. Despite trailing from the beginning of the match, the Pole was able to come back from a 4:6 deficit in the first set and take the next two sets for a win.

The Polish tennis player won the whole match 4:6, 6:1, 6:1, thus securing her promotion to the 1/16 final. There, she will face 54th-ranked Varvara Gracheva.
