Polish tennis player Magda Linette still has a chance to win. She and her American partner, Bernarda Pera, have advanced to the semi-finals of the Miami Open.

Magda Linette and American Bernarda Pera earned a hard-fought victory in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 hard-court tennis tournament in Miami, defeating Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu and Ukraine’s Anhelina Kalinina with a score of 6:3, 7:6 (7-5). The win advances them to the semifinals, where they will compete for the $8.8 million prize pool.

Linette and Pera have advanced to the semi-finals of doubles play after impressive victories over ninth-seeded Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani (6:4, 2:6, 10-5) and experienced Laura Siegemund and Vera Zwonariova (6:1, 7:6).

On Tuesday (March 28), they faced Romanian Irina Camelia Begu and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina. They won the first set easily. The second, however, was tighter and lasted more than an hour. Eventually, the Polish-American duo won 6:3, 7:6 (7-5).

The Polish-American duo will compete against Canadian Leylah Fernandez and American Taylor Townsend for the final.
