Left-wing Minister for Equality Katarzyna Kotula promotes “morning-after pills,” arguing that it… protects children. The new government has passed a law allowing children as young as 15 to purchase such pills without a prescription or parental consent. Minister Kotula believes this is the best way for young people to feel safe.
Minister Kotula also promotes the LGBT+ movement. She invited the authors of a ranking of Polish schools friendly to LGBT+ to the ministry. The previous government believed that schools must be friendly to every student and disagreed with promoting LGBT+ ideology in schools.
Former Children’s Rights Ombudsman Mikołaj Pawlak inspected schools from the ranking. It turned out that most of them had never verified their employees in the government’s register of sexual offenders – every school principal has such an obligation. Verification in the register is intended to ensure the safety of students. The new Children’s Rights Ombudsman, Monika Horna-Cieślak, announced that she will also support all initiatives of the LGBT+ community.
