Crime committed by foreigners in Poland is on the rise. Between 2023 and 2025, the increase amounted to as much as 17.4 percent. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, foreigners committed 10,137 crimes. If the trend continues, 2026 will be a record year, according to the X profile “Służby w akcji”.
The number of foreigners with suspect status has also increased. In 2024, there were 16,437 such individuals, while in 2025 the figure had already risen to 17,504.
The hard data cited by the “Służby w akcji” profile did not sit well with Karolina Gałecka, spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, who accused the authors of the post of spreading disinformation. Meanwhile, it is the spokesperson herself who is misinforming the public by focusing only on the fact that, when comparing crime levels, she cited data only from the first quarters of 2025 and 2026. And indeed, when only the first quarters are taken into account, there is a decrease. However, when broader data are considered, the number of crimes is rising.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have lived to see the times we feared: the spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior and Administration is writing that publishing official statistics on crime committed by foreigners amounts to inciting hatred against other nationalities. All Western countries have gone through this stage. What will be next? Will charges be brought for publishing FACTS? The data we provided are true: crime committed by foreigners is increasing YEAR ON YEAR, not decreasing,”
