Nawrocki on What Tusk Is Responsible For: “After August 6, the Borders Will Be Secure”

“After August 6, Poland’s borders will be secure. A president is coming who will protect our borders,” said President-elect Karol Nawrocki today.

At the Polish-German border, the Border Defense Movement is active, with its members regularly patrolling the border with Germany and carrying out citizen arrests of illegal migrants. In response, they face backlash from the government—such as Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration Czesław Mroczek, who criticized the border defenders on the soon-to-be-defunct public broadcaster TVP.

Today, Karol Nawrocki spoke out on the matter, just after announcing appointments to the National Security Bureau.

“The Germans were pushing illegal migrants into Poland, and Polish citizens responded to this—I thank them for that. As for what happened and what Donald Tusk is responsible for, it’s certain conflicts between the Border Guard and citizens,” said the president-elect.

He then made a clear declaration:

“But I also have good news. After August 6, Poland’s borders will be secure. A president is coming who will protect our borders,” Nawrocki assured.
