New Facts About the Tragedy in Malawa. The Helicopter Crashed in Difficult Terrain

Two people were killed when a helicopter crashed on Saturday near the village of Malawa close to Rzeszów. TV Republika is on site and has already learned more about the tragedy.

According to TV Republika’s findings, the helicopter was flying south of Rzeszów, heading east. In the forest, in an area difficult to access, it first struck the treetops before hitting the ground. A fire broke out afterward.

Emergency services arrived at the scene, and firefighters had to deploy quad bikes to reach the crash site.

“So far, there are more questions than answers,” said TV Republika reporter Arkadiusz Rogowski, who is at the crash location.

According to the station’s information, the helicopter was a private Robinson aircraft registered in France.

Territorial Defense Force soldiers were also dispatched to the area and are searching the surrounding terrain. However, police confirmed that two people died in the crash, and there is no indication that the number of fatalities will increase.

Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak emphasized that emergency services are working on site. “The head of the State Commission on Aircraft Accident Investigation, Tomasz Kuchciński, informed me that he immediately assigned a team to determine the causes of the tragedy and the circumstances of the incident,” he announced on platform X.
