No Embassy Coverage and a Dirty Vehicle for the President: “Is This the New Diplomacy?”

President Karol Nawrocki is on a visit to Latvia. Yet there is no trace of this in the social media channels of the Polish Embassy in Riga. To make matters worse, a dirty car was sent to pick up the president. “These are exactly the new standards of diplomacy and the ‘mission heads’ appointed by Radosław Sikorski…” commented former deputy foreign minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

President Karol Nawrocki is visiting Latvia, where he met with President Edgars Rinkēvičs and Prime Minister Evika Siliņa. He also met with the Polish soldiers stationed in Ādaži.

Despite the president’s fairly full agenda, there is not a single mention of the visit on the Polish Embassy’s social media profiles in Riga.

“Did the Polish Embassy in Latvia lose the password to its Twitter account? They completely failed to notice the visit of the President of Poland; their last post is from two days ago. Now that comments have begun to appear, they’ve started compulsively reposting material from the Chancellery of the President. Are these the wonderful standards under Radosław Sikorski’s leadership?”

asked PiS MP Radosław Fogiel.

What is more, as seen in photos circulating on X, a dirty car was sent to pick up President Nawrocki, one that looks as though it had just traveled a long route through mud.

“The Polish Embassy in Riga does not acknowledge the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland on social media, and sends a dirty car to pick him up… These are the new standards of diplomacy and the ‘mission heads’ appointed by Radosław Sikorski…,”

noted former deputy foreign minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.
