Officials of Rafał Trzaskowski’s administration disband protest outside the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. “They will face consequences for taking part in a crime”

“The Capital City Security Bureau decided to dissolve a demonstration organized outside the building of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. – Attempts to deprive us of the freedom of assembly guaranteed by the Constitution are a crime, regardless of who makes such decisions. The State Protection Service invented a situation in which there are bombs here, and a pyrotechnic and terrorist threat. There is no such threat,” said Robert Bąkiewicz, leader of the Border Defense movement, on TV Republika.

The “Miasteczko Gniewu” (“Town of Anger”) was organized yesterday outside the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. During the night, police officers surrounded the protest site with barriers. Officials subordinate to Rafał Trzaskowski, the Mayor of Warsaw, decided to dissolve the assembly. The decision was reportedly justified by claims of a “pyrotechnic and terrorist threat.”

“Attempts to deprive us of the freedom of assembly guaranteed by the Constitution are a crime, regardless of who makes such decisions. The State Protection Service invented a situation in which there are bombs here, and a pyrotechnic and terrorist threat. There is no such threat. By a strange coincidence, it only concerns this place where we have gathered. We have the right to demonstrate and to assemble. Such a right is guaranteed by the Constitution,” said Robert Bąkiewicz, leader of the Border Defense movement.

He also emphasized that “no Tusk, no police officer, no State Protection Service officer can deprive us of this right based on some false reports.”

“Officials from the Security Bureau will face consequences for taking part in a crime. This is a peaceful demonstration. Police officers are not our enemies. The methods used here have far exceeded the limits of the law,” he stated.
