More than 450 illegal migrants have already been detained in Poland. The figures concern a 100 km stretch of the border with Lithuania.
The Podlaskie Border Guard Unit reported that 22 migrants who crossed the Polish-Lithuanian border illegally on Monday were detained. Since the beginning of the year, there have already been 450 such detentions along the 104 km section of the border.
According to information from the Podlaskie Border Guard Unit, on Monday 22 people illegally crossed the Polish-Lithuanian border.
Among them were migrants from Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, and Ethiopia.
They were detained by the Polish Border Guard (Straż Graniczna, SG), with support from the police and the Territorial Defence Forces. All of them were handed over to the Lithuanian side.
According to data from the Podlaskie Border Guard Unit, more than 450 people have already been detained on the Lithuanian section of the border since the beginning of the year.
