Vulgar chants, offensive messages on banners, and attacks on journalists from independent media – this is how the pato-activists who gathered today outside the Sejm building behaved, ahead of the illegal swearing-in of candidates for judges of the Constitutional Tribunal.
At 12:30 PM, in the Column Hall of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, four candidates elected as judges of the Constitutional Tribunal (Krystian Markiewicz, Maciej Taborowski, Marcin Dziurda, and Anna Korwin-Piotrowska), who had not been sworn in by President Karol Nawrocki, took an “oath” before Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty. However, this act is invalid, as under the law, judges of the Tribunal take their oath before the President of the Republic of Poland.
In response to this unprecedented event, the “Gazeta Polska” Clubs and the Border Defense Movement called on Poles to express their opposition to violations of the law and the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.
Since the morning hours, demonstrators have been gathering in front of the Sejm building.
The protesters are carrying banners reading “Kasta basta, precz z komuną” (“The caste must go, down with communism”), “Czerwony marszałek i Tuska rząd pójdą pod sąd” (“The red marshal and Tusk’s government will face justice”), “Trybunał Konstytucyjny i prezydent Karol Nawrocki ostoją demokracji” (“The Constitutional Tribunal and President Karol Nawrocki are the pillars of democracy”), and “Stop bezprawiu Tuska” (“Stop Tusk’s lawlessness”).
Pato-activists attack TV Republika journalists
There are also activists outside the Sejm building who are disrupting the demonstration of the “Gazeta Polska” Clubs. They are shouting vulgar slogans at TV Republika journalists and holding banners insulting the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. Among the group, Katarzyna Augustynek can be seen.
