Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia issued decisions confirming the expiration of the mandates of MPs appointed to the Chancellery of the President and the National Security Bureau – informed the Chancellery of the Sejm on Tuesday. The decision concerns PiS MPs: Adam Andruszkiewicz, Zbigniew Bogucki, Marcin Przydacz, and Paweł Szefernaker. Who will enter the Sejm in their place?
President Karol Nawrocki appointed on Thursday the leadership of his chancellery and the National Security Bureau. Among them were four PiS MPs. Zbigniew Bogucki became the head of the KPRP, with Adam Andruszkiewicz appointed as his deputy. Paweł Szefernaker was named chief of the president’s cabinet, and Marcin Przydacz is responsible for international affairs in the chancellery. According to the act on the performance of the mandate of an MP and senator, by joining the KPRP, MPs must resign their mandates in the Sejm. If they fail to do so, the Marshal of the Sejm is obliged to terminate them.
As the Chancellery of the Sejm informed on Tuesday, on Monday, June 11, in the morning hours, documents concerning the appointment of MPs to ministerial positions in the KPRP were received. Therefore – based on Article 249 of the electoral code – Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia immediately issued decisions confirming the expiration of the parliamentary mandates of MPs Andruszkiewicz, Bogucki, Przydacz, and Szefernaker as of August 7, 2025.
The statement emphasized that MPs have a three-day deadline to appeal to the Supreme Court. “In case of no appeal being filed, the Marshal of the Sejm will immediately forward the decisions to the Prime Minister for their publication in the Monitor Polski.”
“Next, the Marshal of the Sejm will, based on Article 251 of the electoral code, contact the next candidates from the respective candidate lists of the Law and Justice (PiS) Electoral Committee
with a notification about the possibility of accepting the mandate,” it was written.
“The Chancellery of the Sejm will make every effort so that the oath-taking of the new MPs can take place at the upcoming 40th sitting of the Sejm RP (September 9-12 – ed.)” – added the Chancellery of the Sejm.
The highest results among those who did not enter the Sejm in the given constituency were achieved by: Michał Jach, Bogumiła Olbryś, Marek Subocz, and Tomasz Rzymkowski.
