According to a draft of government legislation, the state of emergency declared in Poland due to the epidemic will come to an end on July 1. The decision has been made in light of the decline in Covid cases.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a state of emergency was declared over three years ago.

On Tuesday, the website of the government legislative centre published a draft regulation prepared by the Health Ministry, which is considered relevant.

“The state of epidemic threat concerning infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is hereby revoked,”

the draft reads, specifying the date of revocation as July 1, 2023.

According to the Health Ministry’s rationale for the regulation, the decision to revoke the state of epidemic threat was based on a motion filed by the Chief Sanitary Inspector with the Minister of Health on April 20, 2023. The motion was made due to the current epidemiological situation, which has seen a decline in the number of diagnosed SARS-CoV-2 infections, deaths, and hospitalizations.

The majority of coronavirus-related restrictions in Poland have already been lifted.
