Their next challenge came against Uruguay, who had already played two matches in Essen, Germany, suffering a 3-2 defeat to Spain and a 1-1 draw against Slovenia. Despite being considered the weakest team in their group, La Celeste could not withstand the Polish firepower.
Krzysztof Elsner kicked off the scoring spree with a spectacular run in the 6th minute, providing an assist to Radosław Łepski, who gave Poland an early lead. Bartłomiej Dębicki added another goal before halftime. The Polish team further accelerated their pace in the second half, with goals from Kamil Kucharski, Paweł Abramowicz, Mateusz Górka, and Bartosz Januszewski, ultimately sealing a commanding 6-0 victory.
While the Polish representatives have already secured their spot in the knockout stage, they have one final group match against Spain on Wednesday at 8:00 PM. Spain has played two matches so far, suffering a 2-1 defeat against Slovenia but rebounding with a 2-1 win over Uruguay.
