Poles Beaten and Detained in Berlin. Was Something Placed in Robert Bąkiewicz’s Pocket?

Did a German police officer place something into Robert Bąkiewicz’s back pocket? Footage broadcast by Republika appears to show an officer reaching toward the detainee’s trousers.

Members of the Border Defense Movement (Ruch Obrony Granic, ROG) traveled to Berlin today, where they intended to pay tribute to the victims of Germany’s invasion of Poland during World War II.

They brought a cross that they planned to place next to the well-known memorial stone near the German parliament. The initiative was blocked by German police. A confrontation followed, during which demonstrators were detained. According to accounts from the organizers, German officers kicked and punched Polish ROG activists.

The incident was covered by journalist Janusz Życzkowski, who captured a moment that has raised questions.

At approximately 5:32 p.m., footage shows a group of German police officers escorting Robert Bąkiewicz to a police vehicle. At one point, one of the officers can be seen reaching toward the back pocket of the Polish activist. The footage gives the impression that the officer may have been attempting to place something inside it.

The recording has prompted speculation and questions about the officer’s actions. However, based solely on the available footage, it is not possible to determine conclusively whether any object was actually placed in the pocket or what the officer’s intent may have been. Further clarification would require additional evidence or an official explanation from the authorities involved.
