Following today’s publication by Niezalezna.pl about scandalous posts calling for murder by a user on the X platform operating under the pseudonym “Ewa Płotka,” authorities have stepped in. The Niezalezna.pl portal has received an official response from the National Police Headquarters. Materials collected by the Central Cybercrime Bureau (CBZC) will soon be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
Earlier this morning, our portal reported on disturbing online activity by a supporter of the current governing coalition who used the X platform (formerly Twitter) account Ewa P. (@EwaOtka). For a long time, the woman allegedly posted messages online in which she openly called for the killing of specific individuals—primarily right-wing politicians and journalists.
Among the scandalous comments published by Ewa P. were, among others, death wishes directed at Janusz Korwin-Mikke (“Kill him? That’s not enough. First cut out his tongue, chop him up, salt and pepper him, and then burn him alive…”), Zbigniew Ziobro (“kill Ziobro!!”), Agnieszka Siewiereniuk-Maciorowska, Jadwiga Emilewicz, and Mateusz Morawiecki (“This old man from hell must be killed. As soon as possible”). The woman also participated in a discussion concerning Polish President Karol Nawrocki, where—responding to a comment saying “We need Smolensk 2.0”—she suggested that “a very good sniper” would do the job.
Before noon, a journalist from Niezalezna.pl sent official questions to the National Police Headquarters, asking, among other things, whether the police had received reports regarding the matter and whether they intended to take action based on the analysis of threats posted by the online user.
In the afternoon, the portal received an official response from the Press and Information Department of the Social Communication Office at the National Police Headquarters. According to the statement, officers combating cybercrime have already taken up the case, and the matter will ultimately be referred to the prosecutor’s office.
“I kindly inform you that the Central Cybercrime Bureau is conducting activities regarding the content published on a social media account on the X platform […]. After the appropriate materials are collected, they will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for legal and criminal assessment and for further decisions,” Lucyna Rekowska, Acting Head of the Department, told Niezalezna.pl.
It should be recalled that shortly after users of the X platform drew attention to Ewa P.’s drastic posts and began notifying law enforcement authorities, the author deleted her account. However, the response of the National Police Headquarters and the actions taken by the CBZC confirm that deleting a profile does not guarantee anonymity when calls for murder and criminal threats are involved.
