In a thrilling conclusion to the Diamond League season, Polish athletes Natalia Kaczmarek and Pia Skrzyszowska have clinched their spots in the prestigious finals. The final list of qualifiers was revealed after the last Diamond League event in Brussels, where Poland was conspicuously absent, marking the second such occurrence this season in the premier athletics series.
The culmination of the Diamond League season will take place on September 16-17 in Eugene, USA, and among the qualifiers are Natalia Kaczmarek and Pia Skrzyszowska. Kaczmarek, sitting atop the rankings with a total of 35 points, secured her position with victories in Florence, Chorzow, and Monaco this season.
Pia Skrzyszowska, despite only one podium finish this year in Stockholm, accumulated 16 points and secured a spot in the finals, placing seventh overall.
This season’s most significant athletics event was the World Championships in Budapest, where Polish athletes brought home two silver medals. These impressive accolades were achieved by Natalia Kaczmarek and hammer thrower Wojciech Nowicki.
