Lech Poznań announced Thursday that its football player, Bartosz Salamon, had positive results following the return match of the UECL round of 16, against Djurgardens. Polish defender Bartosz Salamon, who plays for Lech Poznań and the Polish national team, has tested positive for the presence of chlortalidone, a substance used in the treatment of hypertension, in a doping test conducted after the second leg match against Djurgardens IF in the UEFA Conference League round of 16.
However, Salamon has not been suspended and can continue to play as Lech Poznań is convinced of his innocence and intends to clarify the matter in cooperation with UEFA and the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Salamon, who recently played in a match for the Polish national team against Albania, expressed surprise at the news and emphasized that he always consults with the club’s doctor before taking any supplements or medications.
