The President’s Chancellery has announced that President Andrzej Duda will make an unexpected statement at 10:30 am today. The statement is expected to relate to the President’s decision on the law regarding the establishment of a commission to investigate Russian influence on Poland’s internal security between 2007 and 2022.
The information was first reported by the portal 300polityka.pl and later confirmed by the President’s Chancellery.
According to RMF24, journalist Tomasz Skory believes that there is a possibility that President Duda will veto the bill.
Reinforcing these suspicions is that the President will make a decision almost immediately after the law is passed, which may suggest that he is familiar with the subject and does not want to delay any longer, with a view to calming public anxiety.
