The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has presented data clearly showing how the so-called “pure water” works in public media. Politicians from the December 13 Coalition dominated the airwaves of both TVP and Polish Radio, leaving little space for the opposition.
The National Broadcasting Council reviewed, during a recent meeting, information concerning the airtime allocated to politicians in public media during the presidential election campaign.
As the KRRiT emphasized, “politicians from the ruling coalition dominated the public media airwaves”, and the vast majority of airtime in the second quarter of 2025 was devoted to ruling coalition politicians – and this applies to both the illegally seized TVP and Polish Radio.
“Telewizja Polska S.A. in liquidation, in the period from April to June 2025, devoted 214 hours and 42 minutes (that is, 78%) to the parties forming the ruling coalition, while 60 hours and 12 minutes (that is, 22%) – to opposition groups. The total airtime devoted to political parties in TVP in liquidation amounted to 274 hours and 54 minutes” – the Council reports.
The situation was no different at Polish Radio in liquidation.
The state broadcasters “in the period from April to June 2025, devoted 56 hours and 55 minutes (65%) to coalition parties, while 31 hours and 11 minutes (35%) – to opposition parties. The total airtime devoted to the presentation of political parties in Polish Radio programs in liquidation amounted to 88 hours and 6 minutes”.
Similar disparities in airtime were recorded by the regional stations of Polish Radio in liquidation – adds the KRRiT.
