Sachajko on Radio Republika: Russian and German Intelligence Are Playing Us

“I hope the Polish public will rise up en masse against the interference of intelligence agencies—not necessarily Polish ones,” said Jarosław Sachajko of the “Free Republicans” parliamentary group during an interview on Radio Republika’s Morning Show. “We’re being manipulated by Russian services, which shouldn’t be here anymore, and German services, which shouldn’t be here at all.”

A Scandal Without a Scandal

Following reports from the German-Swiss news outlet Onet, Polish media have been abuzz with the story of “Mr. Jerzy”—a former neighbor of Karol Nawrocki. Years ago, Nawrocki and his wife purchased an apartment from Jerzy, a transaction that has now become the subject of media scrutiny. The situation bears all the hallmarks of a manufactured scandal, typical of the December 13 coalition, seemingly aimed at undermining Nawrocki, whose popularity in the polls has been rising steadily.

Sachajko: A Fake Scandal Is Being Fabricated

Commenting on the case during his appearance on Radio Republika, Sachajko voiced strong concerns:

“I hope Polish society pushes back against this kind of meddling from intelligence services—again, not necessarily Polish. We’re being played by Russian operatives who should have been gone long ago, and by German agents who have no business being here in the first place. We’re a sovereign nation, supposedly united within the EU.”

He continued, “But it turns out there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes interference going on.”

Sachajko went on to praise Nawrocki’s past community work, noting:
“Just look at Karol Nawrocki’s social involvement—visiting prisons to help rehabilitate inmates, working with football fan communities, and for years supporting someone in a very difficult life situation. It takes courage to support someone suffering from a disease that affects a large part of Polish society.”

“And now,” he added, “they’re trying to turn that into a scandal.”

“This whole thing sends the wrong message,” Sachajko warned. “Now every citizen, every Pole, will think twice before helping a neighbor in need—worried that they’ll end up being dragged into a smear campaign like the one targeting Karol Nawrocki.”

Concluding his remarks with a historical analogy, Sachajko said:
“I don’t want this to sound like a joke—but back in the day, the Tsarina would send her ambassador to quietly influence Polish nobles. Unfortunately, part of our parliament played along. Today, it’s the German Chancellor who pays a visit.”
