Services Enter the Campaign, Nawrocki Under Fire: “The Worst Kind of Machine is Being Deployed”

PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek responded to allegations involving the use of special services against Karol Nawrocki, a civic presidential candidate, stating that there is no connection between detained Olgierd L. and Nawrocki. Bochenek decried the situation as a dirty political ploy.

Earlier today, interior ministry spokesperson Jacek Dobrzyński announced that Olgierd L. had been detained by the ABW (Internal Security Agency). His name had been mentioned in an alleged “report” concerning Nawrocki, which had been publicized by pro-government media. The origins of this document remain unclear.

PiS lawmakers have strongly opposed any attempts to link Olgierd L.’s case to Nawrocki, arguing that the supposed report was “de facto fabricated for the use of special services and the political maneuvering we’re witnessing today.” They believe this move is aimed at discrediting Nawrocki as a viable presidential candidate.

Rafał Bochenek noted that the IPN president is gaining increasing public support and growing popularity among voters. He suggested that this progress is causing concern for Civic Platform (PO), Donald Tusk, and Rafał Trzaskowski.

The PiS spokesperson emphasized that anyone guilty of a crime should be brought to justice but claimed that the current activities of special services appear to be politically motivated. Bochenek described attempts to associate Nawrocki with Olgierd L. as part of a “dirty campaign” orchestrated by PO politicians.

PiS MP Jan Kanthak: Government Losing Support, Deploying “Worst Sort of Machine”

PiS MP Jan Kanthak accused the ruling government of panic over dwindling popularity ahead of the upcoming presidential election. “That’s why the worst sort of machine is being activated, involving special services in the democratic electoral process,” Kanthak stated.

He also pointed out rumors circulating in public discourse suggesting that Nawrocki’s access to “top secret” security clearance was somehow facilitated. Kanthak dismissed these claims, stressing that Nawrocki has held such clearance since 2009, during Donald Tusk’s tenure as prime minister. He argued that this long-standing access is evidence of Nawrocki’s credibility and integrity.
