Under the artistic direction of Wojciech Rajski, this year’s festival edition invites audiences to embark on a musical voyage to the United States. The American Concert, held on July 1st at the Forest Opera, will feature iconic compositions like George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and excerpts from “Porgy and Bess.” Notable artists include American baritone Lester Lynch and renowned Polish pianist Leszek Możdżer.

Ragtime Concert: Contemporary Renditions of a Beloved Style

On July 3rd, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot presents the RAGTIME concert, featuring pianist Marcin Masecki and percussionist Jerzy Rogiewicz. Their unique collaboration brings a modern and updated form of ragtime, a foundation of contemporary popular music.

Polish Concert and Penderecki Competition Finale

A highlight of every Sopot Classic edition is the Polish Concert, featuring the music of Krzysztof Penderecki. On July 4th, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot, led by conductor Rafał Janiak, will perform Penderecki’s compositions and showcase the winning piece of the Krzysztof Penderecki Composition Competition.

Baroque Concert: Masters of Baroque Music

Continuing the tradition of the festival, the Baroque Concert on July 5th at St. George’s Church will present exceptional baroque ensembles, including William Christie and Les Arts Florissants, along with renowned countertenors Carlo Vistolin and Hugh Cutting.

A Special Surprise for Younger Audiences

For the first time, the festival prepares a special musical spectacle inspired by a famous fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen. On July 6th, families are invited to the Muszla koncertowa amphitheater for this unique performance.

Grand Opera Gala with Joyce DiDonato

The festival’s grand finale, the Opera Gala on July 9th at the Forest Opera, will feature acclaimed American mezzosoprano Joyce DiDonato. Known for her powerful voice and captivating performances, DiDonato will be accompanied by the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot conducted by Maestro Michał Klauza.

With the support of the City of Sopot and sponsorship from NDI Group, the Sopot Classic Music Festival continues to bring exceptional musical experiences to audiences.
