After a fantastic match, Iga Swiatek easily defeated Jessica Pegula 6:3, and 6:0 and triumphed at the WTA tournament in Qatar. The Pole defended the title she won last year.
It was actually only the beginning that was difficult for the Pole. Both players were highly motivated. When there was 3:3, everyone expected a fierce fight between those two. Swiatek, however, broke Pegula and managed to maintain the lead till the end of the first set.
The second set was fast. Already in the first game, Swiatek managed to break the American, and she was getting weaker and weaker from exchange to exchange. She failed to win even one game. After a perfect second set, the Pole beat Pegula 6:3, 6:0.
