Tarczyński on Nawrocki’s Convention in Łódź: “A Victory for the Citizens”

“I feel like no one is ashamed anymore to admit they are a conservative — as shown by all the rallies and the phenomenal recent convention in Łódź,” said PiS MEP Dominik Tarczyński on TV Republika.

On Sunday, another campaign convention for Karol Nawrocki was held in Łódź. The event featured speeches by President Andrzej Duda and PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński. Marta Nawrocka, wife of the citizen candidate for President of Poland, and publicist Bronisław Wildstein also addressed the audience. Meanwhile, in Poznań, Rafał Trzaskowski held his own election rally.

Speaking on Telewizja Republika, Dominik Tarczyński summed up the campaigns of both candidates.

“I feel like no one is ashamed anymore to admit they are a conservative — all the rallies and the latest phenomenal convention clearly demonstrate that. People are no longer embarrassed to support Law and Justice or conservative forces,” emphasized the MEP.

He also referred to tweets from Barbara Nowacka and Donald Tusk, in which Nawrocki — Trzaskowski’s rival — was called “Kaczyński’s puppet,” and voters supporting the other side were labeled “dumb heads.”

The “Demonization” Mechanism

Tarczyński spoke about the “demonization” of conservatism, which over the years was promoted through various slogans like “take grandma’s ID” and “mohair berets.” He added that many of these campaigns were organized by groups largely funded by organizations such as USAID.

The politician stressed that the convention in Łódź was “a victory for the citizens” because it was made possible through individual donations to the candidate’s campaign team. He also reminded viewers that PiS is still deprived of public subsidies.

“If Trzaskowski’s team — with all the tools at their disposal, the media dominance, the financial backing — cannot organize a compelling event at such a critical moment, right before the first round of voting, just imagine these people running the presidential office and trying to organize major national events,” Tarczyński concluded.”I feel like no one is ashamed anymore to admit they are a conservative — as shown by all the rallies and the phenomenal recent convention in Łódź,” said PiS MEP Dominik Tarczyński on Telewizja Republika.
