The Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival in Katowice kicked off with an exhilarating opening concert by Max Cooper, followed by a diverse lineup of global artists. Despite rain showers, festival-goers remained enthusiastic about the upcoming music-packed weekend.
The Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival commenced with a remarkable opening concert at the NOSPR hall on Thursday, June 8th. The acclaimed electronic artist Max Cooper took the stage, transcending boundaries between art, music, film, and technology. His multimedia performances offered a feast of visual and auditory experiences, setting the tone for the festival’s adult-oriented direction.
Rainy Inauguration, Unwavering Enthusiasm
Despite a rainy start to the cultural zone inauguration on Friday, music enthusiasts remained undeterred in their pursuit of great sounds. The main portion of the festival, scheduled for Friday and Saturday (June 9-10), unfolded across five stages, hosting artists from diverse musical realms and corners of the world.
The musical marathon in the Cultural Zone burst into action with fervor. Rain interruptions failed to dampen the spirits of festival-goers, especially considering the two largest stages found shelter within the International Congress Center. Notably, this year’s edition marked the debut of the concert hall at NOSPR as one of the main stages, adding to the festival’s grandeur.
Passport Troubles and Lineup Adjustments
However, passport issues overshadowed the event as Clark, one of the anticipated Friday headliners, couldn’t make it to Katowice. The artist’s agents expressed hope for his return to Poland as soon as possible. In response, the organizers made necessary changes to the festival schedule, deciding that the City of Music Stage would kick off its activities at 9:00 PM with a concert by PVA.
