“This is all deliberate. It’s all staged!” said participants of the Independence March to our reporter, as they waited for a long time to get to the event by metro due to the lack of transport preparation in Warsaw.
At 2:00 p.m., the Independence March set off from Dmowski Roundabout in Warsaw. However, as reported by Niezalezna.pl correspondent Joanna Grabarczyk, participants of the event faced major difficulties getting around the capital today.
It turns out that the malfunctioning Warszawa Centralna station was not the only transport problem in the capital. Another unpleasant surprise awaited participants of today’s Independence Day celebrations in… the Warsaw metro.
“It’s all deliberate”
Reporter Grabarczyk, who was on site, had the opportunity to speak with people who at one point got stuck at metro stations, unable to reach the gathering point. “This is all deliberate. It’s all staged! Just like stopping trains at the Warszawa Centralna station. We’ll try to find another way to get there, but we certainly won’t make it on time,” said frustrated participants.
According to our reporter’s account, later – seeing how overcrowded the stations were – additional metro trains were dispatched. However, many people still failed to reach Dmowski Roundabout on time.
