Małgorzata Paprocka stated in an interview with Telewizja Trwam that she is deeply concerned by attempts to undermine the legitimacy of the election results. She acknowledged that an error in vote counting did occur in one precinct during the second round of the presidential elections. However, she emphasized that the discrepancy amounted to “just one thousand votes, in the context of a margin exceeding 360,000.”
“The myth of election fraud, the questioning of the president’s mandate, efforts to polarize society and stir unrest—these are absolutely scandalous actions,” she said.
Perception Shapes Reputation
According to the Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, it is in the national interest that the president’s mandate be strong and unchallenged.
“This is not only a matter of domestic stability, but also of Poland’s representation on the international stage—whether within the framework of the United Nations, NATO, or in the context of bilateral meetings,” she added.
Paprocka stressed that for President Andrzej Duda, it is of utmost importance that the electoral process concludes in a calm and lawful manner, that the Supreme Court’s ruling is respected, and that on August 6—on the date stipulated by the Polish Constitution—the president-elect takes the oath of office and the transfer of authority at the Presidential Palace is carried out.
At Precinct Electoral Commission No. 95 on Stawowa Street in Kraków, the votes cast in the second round of the presidential elections were mistakenly assigned to the wrong candidates—Karol Nawrocki and Rafał Trzaskowski.
According to Kraków’s election commissioner, Rafał Sobczuk, members of the precinct commission reported the error to the city authorities and to the district electoral commission, which is currently investigating the matter.
