This intricately illustrated map, adorned with linocut designs, draws on 19th-century folklore and serves as a captivating blend of art and ethnographic research.

A Collaborative Interdisciplinary Effort
Developed by a team of ethnographers, cartographers, historians, graphic artists, writers, and IT specialists, the map was created as part of a research project funded by Poland’s National Science Centre (NCN). The 1:720,000 scale map reveals the specific locations tied to legendary creatures, as imagined over 150 years ago.
