Szczecin welcomed the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, with many positive gestures. People eagerly took photos with the president, and there was even… a reference to the head of state’s sporting passion.
President Karol Nawrocki took part in Szczecin’s commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the signing of the August Agreements and the founding of NSZZ “Solidarity.”
“We know this much about ourselves today: throughout the entire 20th century, Poles never agreed to hand over our freedom, independence, and sovereignty to the communists,” President Nawrocki emphasized.
What did the president hear from Poles in Szczecin?
In Szczecin, the president could count on a warm welcome, which was captured on a recording by the Chancellery of the President.
Nawrocki also found a moment to meet with Poles. “We’ve got it!” he said as he personally took a selfie with one of the Szczecin residents. Some also had messages to share with the head of state. “Mr. Karol, double guard!” shouted one of the participants, alluding to the president’s passion for boxing. But in this case, the advice didn’t quite hit the mark, since the first weeks of Nawrocki’s presidency show that he has no intention of hiding behind a double guard and is firmly defending his position in relations with Prime Minister Tusk’s government.
