Trzaskowski Endorses Equality Parade Again — Is Support for Same-Sex Adoption Next?

Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has once again taken the “Equality Parade” under his patronage. Among the organizers’ demands is the legalization of child adoption by homosexual couples. Is this a sign of a radical ideological agenda from Tusk and the Civic Coalition’s (KO) presidential candidate?

What are Trzaskowski’s current views?

Rafał Trzaskowski has once again granted official patronage to the “Equality Parade,” whose 2025 edition will take place on June 14 in Warsaw. The event organizer’s website clearly states that one of the key demands is the right of same-sex couples to adopt children:

“All citizens should have equal rights to enter into civil partnerships, marriages, and adopt children, regardless of gender or sexual orientation,”

the official event materials state.

Alongside the logo of the Mayor of Warsaw, the parade’s website also features logos of institutions such as the European Commission, the Embassy of Canada, the “Ministry for Equality,” and the Deputy Speaker of the Polish Senate, Magdalena Biejat. According to many internet users, this is a sign that gender ideology is a permanent component of the Civic Coalition presidential candidate’s platform.

Although the organizers’ demands carry no legal force, many political commentators point out that repeated support for them by influential political figures in power may signal future legislative initiatives. Trzaskowski’s involvement in such initiatives is seen as a troubling political signal by some.
