“Investigative Team No. 3, which is conducting proceedings on the use of Pegasus spyware, has entered into intensive cooperation with the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA). The full circumstances are being examined for potential criminal offences, in particular the disclosure of materials from operational surveillance and the breach of attorney-client privilege,” declared Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, referring to the new “Tusk tapes” revealed yesterday by TV Republika.
The Tusk Tapes
A few days ago, TV Republika released 2019 recordings featuring Donald Tusk, Roman Giertych and Paweł Graś.
In the footage, the current prime minister called residents of certain Polish regions “f**kups,” a remark that sparked widespread outrage.

Giertych also raised the issue of handing over signatures to Stanisław Gawłowski, who was then running for the Senate. The initial revelations hinted that this was only the beginning of a so-called “Tape Scandal 2.0.” That prediction was borne out last night, when TV Republika published further recordings from the period after the 13 December coalition had already taken power.
Bodnar’s Reaction
Adam Bodnar, the Minister of Justice, commented online today on the tapes released by TV Republika:
“After TV Republika published several recorded conversations of Roman Giertych, Investigative Team No. 3, which is conducting proceedings concerning the use of Pegasus, entered into intensive cooperation with the CBA. The entirety of the circumstances is being analysed for possible criminal offences, in particular the disclosure of materials from operational surveillance and the breach of attorney-client privilege.”
The minister added that “once the analysis is complete, the prosecutor will decide whether a separate investigation will be initiated in this matter.”
