Tusk Thundered about “Russian Mafias”, the Outcome Was Predictable. Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland: The President Still Has Not Received Any Information

“This is Donald Tusk’s whole trick – he gagged the parliamentarians and the president’s administration, then came out and started talking about Russian mafias,” said Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Chancellery of President Nawrocki. The politician referred in this way to the pseudo-scandal over cryptocurrencies being spun by the 13 December Coalition. He also stressed that so far the president has not received any information concerning crypto-assets.

Tusk’s “Crypto-Scandal”

A few days ago, President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill regarding crypto-assets, which provoked a sharp reaction from Prime Minister Donald Tusk, his cabinet, and the entire 13 December Coalition. Politicians from the ruling camp began raising the issue of an alleged “crypto-scandal”, which led to a closed session of the Sejm being convened on Friday. Ultimately – during the open vote – the ruling coalition failed to gather the majority needed to override the presidential veto.

As the portal niezalezna.pl established, just before the vote Donald Tusk launched a harsh attack on the opposition. In his remarks, the prime minister made numerous suggestions and accusations, speaking about “Russian influence” and “the Russian mafia”, and also claiming that “some right-wing politicians holding high office show surprisingly advanced knowledge of matters related to cryptocurrencies”.

Our findings also indicate that during the secret sitting of the Sejm, Tusk raised, among other things, the issue of the financing of the CPAC Polska conference by the company zondacrypto. According to information we obtained, he also referred several times – based on insinuations unsupported by evidence – to TV Republika. Earlier, representatives of the ruling coalition had already attempted to float accusations in the media against the mentioned company associated with the cryptocurrency market.

Despite the presidential veto, members of the 13 December Coalition have already announced that the Sejm will once again work on a bill with identical content. Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Chancellery of President Nawrocki, commented on these reports today on the air of Radio Wnet.

“We – that is, the presidential administration and the president himself – have not received any information concerning crypto-assets to this day. I cannot speak about that secret session,” he declared.

He pointed out that “this is Donald Tusk’s whole trick – he gagged the parliamentarians and the president’s administration, then came out and started talking about Russian mafias”.

The specifics – what happened and what proceedings are underway – should be presented to the president. If there is no such presentation, it is difficult to say that we are dealing with serious action,” he assessed.
