“The crime of pedophilia that took place in Kłodzko occurred during PiS rule, and the perpetrator went unpunished while the abuse continued for years,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk argued today. Contrary to the facts, the head of government decided to “share” responsibility for the criminal activities in Lower Silesia with those demanding the truth be revealed.
During Friday’s session of the Sejm, MPs from Law and Justice (PiS) did not let the Kłodzko scandal drop. Dariusz Matecki and Michał Woś were excluded from the session for displaying banners reading “don’t tell anyone” featuring photos of Donald Tusk and Monika Wielichowska with Kamila L. Seeking to avoid confrontation with politicians, he resigned from holding a press conference in parliament and instead organized one in the garden of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
“These kinds of stunts aimed at discrediting politicians or political parties in the eyes of voters are a specialty of the right wing all over the world,” he said, referring to the Kłodzko scandal.
He added that “the crime of pedophilia that took place in Kłodzko occurred during PiS rule, and the perpetrator went unpunished while the abuse continued for years.”
“During our time, the perpetrator was sentenced to life imprisonment,” he argued.
“It is exceptionally vile to try to make Ms. Monika Wielichowska co-responsible for what happened in Kłodzko. This is exceptionally dirty and repulsive politics,” he continued.
“For me, what matters is how those in power behave when such evil occurs. The PiS authorities did nothing at the time,” Tusk assessed.
It is worth recalling that the person whose actions prevented the abuse from being stopped was herself an activist of Civic Platform (PO) – later convicted for failing to act in response to her husband’s pedophilic crimes. The bestiality-related charges – contrary to the Prime Minister’s assurances – were brought in June 2023, thus already during PiS rule. Her husband was also taken into custody under the PiS government.
What was the response from the Civic Platform circle? At the beginning of 2024, Kamila L. – despite widespread knowledge in Kłodzko of the charges against her – became the election agent for the local PO committee. Earlier, she had taken photos with senior PO figures: Donald Tusk, Monika Wielichowska, and Tomasz Siemoniak.
