Emergency services attempted to gain access to the eighth-floor apartment of former National Security Bureau chief Professor Sławomir Cenckiewicz. During a broadcast on TV Republika, niezalezna.pl journalist Tomasz Grodecki spoke about troubling developments in the investigation into false emergency alerts. “Investigators are looking into phone breaches involving many politicians, mainly from the right wing,” he said. Meanwhile, the station’s programming director, Michał Rachoń, argued that such actions amount to an attempt to shift responsibility onto the victims. He also noted that the operation involving Professor Cenckiewicz took place shortly after President Donald Trump spoke about his good relations with President Karol Nawrocki in the context of the US military presence in Poland.
Speaking on TV Republika, niezalezna.pl journalist Tomasz Grodecki referred to disturbing information emerging from the investigation into the false emergency alerts targeting the Free Speech Zone media community. “Investigators are examining phone breaches involving many politicians, mainly from the right wing, including Sławomir Cenckiewicz,” he said.
“A narrative being pushed to journalists”
Michał Rachoń stressed that Sławomir Cenckiewicz had never clicked on any suspicious link.
“I heard this version of events some time ago. The claim that this is supposedly the source of the entire situation is simply complete nonsense and an attempt to place responsibility on the victim,”
Michał Rachoń stressed.
Tomasz Grodecki agreed.
“This narrative has started circulating and is being pushed to journalists. It could be dangerous, it could serve as a pretext for further actions allegedly aimed at verifying the situation,”

According to him, such actions could allow the services to gain access to billing records and the phones of “half of the right wing.”
“According to some investigators I spoke with, such measures could be undertaken under the pretext of all these incidents. This matter must be watched very closely, because it could mean surveillance of an entire political environment, not only TV Republika journalists, but more broadly, many politicians,”
Tomasz Grodecki assessed.
Timing of the intervention raises questions
Michał Rachoń also argued that the incident cannot be separated from the broader international context. He pointed out that the intervention involving Professor Cenckiewicz took place shortly after President Trump emphasized his very good relations with President Karol Nawrocki in connection with the presence of American troops in Poland.
“We have a government that is fighting against the transatlantic relationship, while on the other hand, we have President Karol Nawrocki saying, let us build transatlantic relations. Then, during the night after this kind of announcement, the following morning, we see this kind of alarm,”
Michał Rachoń said.
