Unanimous Decision in Law and Justice (PiS): Błaszczak Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Details of the Political Committee

“Przemysław Czarnek has all the qualities that would make him a good prime minister. He is a dynamic and courageous man and will undoubtedly rise to the challenges facing all of us,” said Mariusz Błaszczak on TV Republika, announcing that the upcoming parliamentary election campaign will be difficult.

The leader of the largest opposition party announced in Kraków on Saturday that the party’s candidate for prime minister is Professor Przemysław Czarnek.

“We keep our commitments”

Tomasz Sakiewicz, during the program “Polityczna Kawa” on TV Republika, asked Mariusz Błaszczak whether Law and Justice (PiS) guarantees that after winning the elections it will not change its candidate for prime minister.

“This is a decision that was taken by the authorities of Law and Justice. What is worth emphasizing is that it was unanimously approved by the Political Committee. (…) Experience has taught us that we are credible – when we make commitments, we keep them. Przemysław Czarnek has all the qualities that would make him a good prime minister,” Błaszczak stressed, listing Professor Czarnek’s previous experience from regional politics in Lublin to the central level of government.

He also mentioned his extensive education as an academic and constitutional scholar. “He is a dynamic and courageous man and will undoubtedly rise to the challenges facing all of us,” he added, predicting a difficult parliamentary campaign.

Independently or in a coalition?

Recent polls indicate that if parliamentary elections were held in the near future, the governing coalition led by Donald Tusk would lose power. At the same time, the current level of support for Law and Justice (PiS) would not allow it to govern alone. The third-highest level of support currently belongs to Confederation. Just behind it is the party of Grzegorz Braun.

The program’s guest was asked whether the strategy of Law and Justice (PiS) is to consolidate support among right-wing voters or to form a coalition with one of these groups.

Mariusz Błaszczak pointed to the critical reaction of Sławomir Mentzen to the “SAFE 0%” proposal announced by President Karol Nawrocki and the head of the National Bank of Poland, as well as the previous actions of Grzegorz Braun.

“Law and Justice is the only credible force on the Polish political scene that can and knows how to take care of Polish interests,” Błaszczak emphasized.
