The Polish national team leads against Switzerland 1:0 in their match in the United Cup. The first point for the white and red team was won by Iga Swiatek. The World No.1 defeated the Olympic champion from Tokyo, Belinda Bencic 6:3, 7:6.
Swiatek looked very focused from the start. Unfortunately for the Swiss, she was unable to follow up after that and lost the next two games and thus the entire set 3:6.
The Tokyo Olympic champion entered the second set by winning a game on her serve. Later, however, the Pole showed off a phenomenal backhand and won expressly on her serve.
The ranking leader led to a tie-break. Eventually, after more than two hours of competition, the Pole won the last game 7:3.
