In his post, the Hungarian politician emphasized that “Polish right achieved a tremendous victory in the presidential election. Since then, the pro-Brusselian Polish government has launched a political witch hunt against them.”

“Today, I met with former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro in Budapest. The Polish government is trying to have him arrested. All this in the heart of Europe, while Brussels stays silent. These are the absurd times we are living in…,” the statement reads.

They want to arrest Ziobro

Waldemar Żurek, the current Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, has recently submitted to the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, a request for consent to hold Ziobro criminally liable, as well as for his detention and arrest. The Prosecutor General’s Office spokesperson, prosecutor Anna Adamiak, announced at a press conference that the 158-page motion had been forwarded to the Speaker of the Sejm.

The case concerns alleged irregularities in the spending of money from the Justice Fund. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office spokesperson, during his tenure as Minister of Justice, Ziobro established and led an organized criminal group that misappropriated over 150 million złoty from this fund.
