“The prosecutor’s office is deliberately delaying proceedings against Dawid Kacprzyk so that later nothing can be clarified and impunity can be guaranteed,” said former Deputy Minister of Justice Marcin Warchoł. In his view, a “systemic pathology” operated at Warsaw’s Southern Hospital to provide representatives of Civic Platform (KO) and their families with “a comfortable and prosperous life.”
The case of Dawid Kacprzyk, a former Civic Platform city councillor, gained nationwide attention after the Portal Zero news outlet established that he had allegedly worked a total of 3,976 hours at Warsaw’s Southern Hospital in 2025. According to hospital records, this amounted to an average of 331 hours per month. His duty schedules indicated that some shifts lasted continuously for three or even four days. In 2025, Kacprzyk received approximately PLN 1.6 million for providing medical services. At Southern Hospital, he served as the coordinator of the Emergency Department despite not even holding a medical specialty.
According to the portal’s findings, politicians from Civic Platform were allegedly admitted to Kacprzyk’s department without waiting in line, while comprehensive examinations were reportedly performed almost immediately after registration in a “VIP lounge.” After the affair became public, the doctor returned PLN 500,000 to the hospital.
On Tuesday, Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski, the hospital’s former head of department, gave a shocking interview in which Kacprzyk’s name was mentioned. Serious allegations were made against the young doctor, who lacked a specialty and was simultaneously a Civic Platform (KO) activist. Cases involving deaths at the Emergency Department he coordinated are to be investigated.
“It Cries Out to Heaven”
Speaking on TV Republika on Saturday, former Deputy Minister of Justice Marcin Warchoł commented on the case. He argued that after the scandal broke, Civic Platform (KO) politicians began distancing themselves from the party activist.
“Prominent Civic Platform politicians took photographs with Kacprzyk. Bartosz Arłukowicz supported him during his election campaign, yet after the scandal erupted, everyone suddenly pretends they don’t know him, that nobody even knew he existed. I even heard someone from the hospital’s management claim that, in reality, he coordinated nothing and had no influence over anything,” he said.
“If he meant nothing, if he accomplished nothing significant, if he earned more than PLN 1.5 million in a single year for doing nothing, and if nobody knew him, then why did the Warsaw authorities introduce him to the staff of Wolski Hospital, where he was supposed to become head of the Emergency Department? For someone who was supposedly completely anonymous, without any connections or achievements… this must be the first career of its kind in history,” he continued.
According to Warchoł, what actually took place was a “systemic pathology of Civic Platform.”
“Civic Platform (KO) hands out lucrative positions to trusted party operatives, paying them generously so they can later provide the party’s politicians and their families with a comfortable and prosperous life. That’s what this is all about. In Kacprzyk’s case, access to the VIP lounge and access to a doctor on demand were the benefits enjoyed by the families of Civic Platform politicians. Especially if one of those politicians got alcohol poisoning after drinking too much, a doctor at a public hospital would sober them up without making them wait in line. We know that alcohol-intoxicated Civic Platform activists were also treated in that VIP lounge. Meanwhile, you, an ordinary Pole, have to wait for hours in the emergency room with your little daughter crying in pain because of a broken arm while the privileged elite from Civic Platform have to sober up first. This is a scandal. It cries out to heaven,” he said.
He added that if, according to some people, there was no scandal at all, then why did Kacprzyk return half a million złoty?
Prosecutor’s Delay
Warchoł also referred to the prosecutor’s apparent lack of action against the Civic Platform (KO) activist.
“[Kacprzyk] has neither been detained nor have any electronic devices been secured – phones, laptops, contact lists. All of that evidence can simply disappear. We have recently seen the actions of Prosecutor General Żurek’s office, which allowed evidence to disappear in the Zondacrypto case, and it was only employees who raised the alarm that evidence was being destroyed. The same thing is happening here. The destruction of evidence is being allowed. This is a deliberate delay so that later nothing can be clarified and impunity can be guaranteed,” he said.
He also recalled the case of an elderly woman from Toruń, to whose home police officers, including a deputy police commander, were dispatched the very next day over a social media post about Jerzy Owsiak. He also referred to the deployment of law enforcement officers against Father Michał Olszewski and former officials from the Ministry of Justice.
“Here, however, the delay is deliberate in order to enable the destruction of evidence,” he concluded.
