“We knew [that war would break out – ed.]. Although I can also already say that certain analyses suggested for quite a long time that the actions considering Ukraine as the target of aggression could have been a so-called masikirovka and that the real direction of the attack was in the north,” the president of the Law and Justice party Jarosław Kaczyński told “Gazeta Polska.”
The entire interview conducted by Katarzyna Gójska and Tomasz Sakiewicz will be published this Wednesday, December 21, in the ‘Gazeta Polska.’
The President of the Law and Justice party was asked in an interview with ‘Gazeta Polska’ whether they [as the party – ed.] knew that war would break out.
“Yes, we knew. Although I can also already say that certain analyses suggested for quite a long time that the actions considering Ukraine as the target of aggression could have been a so-called masikirovka and that the real direction of the attack was to the north. Of course, with time the situation became more and more obvious and unambiguous,” Jarosław Kaczyński stressed.
Asked whether the Russians were surprised by Poland’s resolute stance and preparation to repel the attack, the head of the ruling party said:
“To my knowledge, they were. Although, as everyone well remembers, the opposition did not help us in this defence. I am speaking as gently as I can. It gave the impression at times that it [the opposition – ed.] was partly involved in the plan. But this is not the time or place to elaborate on that,” the politician noted.
The whole interview will be available on Wednesday (Dec 21) in “Gazeta Polska” weekly. The interview was conducted by the editor-in-chief of ‘Gazeta Polska’ Tomasz Sakiewicz and Katarzyna Gójska.
