“‘Zbigniew Z.’s passport was annulled by a decision of the Mazovian Voivode Mariusz Frankowski at the request of the National Prosecutor’s Office,” announced Marcin Kierwiński on X. In doing so, the head of the Ministry of the Interior compromised himself by referring to ‘Zbigniew Z.’
In his post, Marcin Kierwiński suggested that Zbigniew Ziobro had already been charged, which is why he shortened his surname to an initial.
The former Minister of Justice has, however, not heard any charges from the prosecution and is not formally accused of anything. At the beginning of November, the Sejm approved a motion to lift his immunity. On the same day, the parliament also voted in favor of a motion allowing his detention and arrest.
Zbigniew Ziobro, however, was at that time in Budapest, where he remains today, extending his stay. In the meantime, he also traveled to Brussels.
Annulled Passport Earlier, the National Prosecutor’s Office submitted a motion to the court for the temporary arrest of the former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General. So far, the authorities have not taken any action in this matter.
Previously, the politician’s diplomatic passport had been canceled, and now the passport issued by Mazovian Voivode Mariusz Frankowski has been annulled by his decision. The request was reportedly made by the National Prosecutor’s Office. The passport allows travel to countries outside the Schengen Area.
Within the EU, one can travel using only a national ID card.
Recently, the District Court in Rawa Mazowiecka rejected two PK motions regarding the imposition of a so-called forced mortgage on the former minister’s house.
